On the other hand if you tend to move a lot, such as a college student, you likely will not want to sign a contract with your Texas electric retailer. You are going to want the flexibility to pay as you go and perhaps even prepay for your electric much like many people now do with their cell phone service. This allows you to cancel or move your electric at a moments notice and pay little if an cancellation fees.
